They'll have a client for everything eventually (well, maybe not PS5, but you know - desktop, phone, browser, smart TV, etc).

@Britesparc You can stream to pc unofficially, and only from your console, but it works fairly well.

    Wut? It's region-locked Android-only for me?

Oh, maybe Xbox doesn’t have it. PS4 should work.

I used OneCast to stream my console to my iPad. Paid app but worked well enough.

So, Thursday's show. There's stuff we know we'll see (Halo) and stuff that certain 'insiders' are touting as certain (Fable). But what does anyone really want? For years at every E3 my wishlist was Fable, Crackdown, and Perfect Dark but even the last one of those now seems heavily rumoured.
Outside of a brand new IP that immediately impresses, the franchise I'd most like to see return is Viva Pinata. That was a game with an excellent hook that I feel could be expanded and improved.

Yes defo Fable and the best thing is that I won't need to buy a Series X to play it

    Halo Infinite
    Forza 8
    Fable Reboot
    Minecraft Path Traced edition
    Flight Sim 2020
Plus some new IP and a look at what the series X can do to Xbox One and 360 games via back compatibility.
Is it an entirely first party event?

There will be third parties there as well.
Rumour is that Obsidian are making something like Skyrim, maybe set in the Pillars universe, but I don't know if there's any real smoke behind that. Guess we'll see! Either way, with Playground's second studio, Obsidian and InXile, we're going to be getting a lot of RPGs from Xbox going forward.
Also, latest rumours seem to be suggesting that The Initiative won't be there (they're supposedly the ones making Perfect Dark, so maybe don't expect that, just in case).
I think we can safely guess we'll see Halo Infinite, Fable reboot, Hellblade II, something new from Obsidian, and maybe one or two things from Global Publishing.

Be interesting to see whether we get flashy trailers or extended gameplay vids. Or they could do flashy trailers for the show, but have loads of hands-on demos with journos and streamers afterwards.

    @Ror
I was really excited about that briefly until I remembered that I didn't really enjoy The Outer Worlds. That said, I really need to go back and give that another go.

@Scimarad That's fair, but it's also worth keeping in mind that The Outer Worlds was a smaller budget game (published by Take Two's indie initiative, Private Division) from a smaller team, and that, afaik, most of that team are still working on DLC for it.
The other project is a larger team, with a larger budget, apparently doing something more fantasy-inspired.

Halo Infinite will be gameplay, but as for the rest, who knows. There will be both a pre- and post-show, so I guess some stuff that only gets trailers in the main showcase could get gameplay/dev interview stuff afterwards. And Geoff Keighley has said there will be WURLD PRUHMEER announcements in the pre-show, too.

You've got to imagine that they at least need to go toe-to-toe with Sony on game footage. It would be a massive own-goal to fuck that up.
While not everything knocked my socks off, the PS5 show at least started to build some momentum and excitement for a new console generation. A damp squib from MS would derail their buildup now I'd imagine.
They've got Game Pass, they've got a chassis that doesn't hurt my eyes, they've got good form for quiet operation... DON'T FUCK UP ON THE GAMES!!!!!

Sea of Thieves was the last nail in the coffin of my giving a shit about Rare's output. After creative genius like Nuts 'n' Bolts and Viva Piñata, they've done fuck all of interest for me for ages. A shadow of a glimpse of a shadow of their former self.
Whatever it is that they've morphed into in the last decade, it clearly ain't aimed at me any more.

I hear Sea of Thieves has done really well on game pass.
Kind of game I just wish I still had a childhood to misspend on with m8s.

Yeah, I saw 15 million users now or something. Great. It's still an empty mess of a place. If Rare is now a studio that churns out 'emergent' experiences for teenagers with time on their hands, as you say, then great. But that's also a shame that the more controlled, traditional experiences they used to be so good at are getting shafted.
As I say, I have almost no interest in their output now. I guess that started when they became the Avatars Studio.

Also, Sea of Thieves has more narratively-driven stuff in there now with the Tall Tales and such. There's much more stuff in there than there was at launch.

Aye - I played it for the first time in anger really later last year and again a few months ago. It felt impenetrable and dull, even with all those improvements. The sailing definitely had appeal for the first dozen hours of futzing about, but I just couldn't keep a crew together long enough to explore much. further. Just felt so pointless and undirected and our emergent experience wasn't all that fun for whatever reason.
