Step 1: Go to http://greenshot.org/ and download Green Shot

Once you have it downloaded onto your computer then you're ready to take screenshots the easy way.
Step 2: While on the page that you want to take a screen shot - press the following keys on your keyboard at the same time: Fn (and) PrtSc
Step 3: A gid will appear on your screen. Move your cursor to the top left of where you want to capture and hold down the left mouse button. While holding the mouse button down drag the mouse to highlight what you want to capture. Once you've captured the area, release the button.
Step 4: A new window will pop up with the picture you just captured...you can add arrows, words, text and more.

Step 5: Click on File. Then Save As.

Step 6: Name your pic and click Save.

@CoreyGoldberg True, nothing to do with your answer. But my old script used a older FF and it did take the whole page, not only the viewport. After they changed it to standard now only viewport. So I wanted to help somebody having the same problem. And yes, fixed element are a real pain in scroll/stich! – Martin Krung Nov 28 '17 at 10:57.

Many games on MyAbandonware do not have screenshots. They are essential for users to check out the game before downloading it, as well as helping users find a childhood game by browsing our pages.

Most of the time, we use the screenshots kindly provided by MobyGames, but they don't have screenshots for every game or every platform of a game. We are actively looking for user-contributed screenshots.

Taking screenshots in DOSBox

DOSBox allows you to take screenshot with the combination Ctrl + F5 (hit the keys them at the same time, starting with Ctrl). The screenshots taken will be saved in a particular SnapsFolder depending on your OS:

  • Windows: go to your DOSBox program folder, usually C:Program FilesDOSBox-7.xx, double-click on 'Screenshots & Recordings' ;
  • Mac: open a new finder window, in the menu click on 'Go' then 'Go to Folder' (or hit ⇧Shift + ⌘Cmd + G), then enter '~/Library/Preferences/capture/' without quotes.

Screenshots are named after the name of the game directory. Some alternative exists to take screenshots, feel free to use them.

Other Emulators

With ScummVM, use Alt + S to take screenshots, but you have to set additional path in the program options. Mac games emulator (SheepShaver, Basilisk II, Mini vMac) may allow taking screenshots, but it's not well documented.

You can use the Alt + PrintScreen (top of the keyboard, can be labeled Prt Sc) to take a screenshot, but you'll have to paste it into Paint then save it on disk. On Windows 8, you can press the ⊞Win key + PrintScreen to save the screenshot on disk in ComputerPicturesScreenshots folder.

Mac users can use the combination ⌘Cmd + ⇧Shift + 4, release the keys, press Space and click on the DOSBox window. The screenshots are saved on the desktop.
